Labs and Interpretation

In addition to conventional laboratory testing recommendations and thorough interpretation, Dr Cory offers uniquely informative functional laboratory testing- such as Adrenal Stress panels, Comprehensive Digestive Analysis, Food Allergy testing, Hormone panels and Heavy Metal testing. These tests give insight into the
functioning of your specific organs and systems, rather than simply noting if disease is present or not.

Food Intolerance Testing

Symptoms of a food intolerance are often confused with food allergies- diarrhea or constipation, eczema/dry skin, and mouth ulcers. But an intolerance is a lifelong condition that can weaken our immune systems when we continue to consume a food we are intolerant to. Tests for IgA antibodies specific to gliadin (gluten), dairy (cow's milk), egg, and soy- the major reactors. This saliva test is simple to do at home! Cost is $97

Celiac Antibody Panel and Interpretation

Celiac disease is a condition that damages the lining of the small intestine caused by a reaction to eating gluten, which is found in wheat, barley, rye, and some oats. Symptoms include diarrhea, bloating, weight loss, eczema, and even depression or 'brain fog'. This fingerstick test is very simple and easy to take! It is an serum Elisa test for Anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA and IgG and IgA antibodies specific for gliadin.

Cost includes test and 10-minute discussion of results  $139

Interested in the Food Allergy and Celiac Test? Cost is $308

Vitamin D Blood Spot Panel and Interpretation

Vitamin D is so important for our immune systems and mood and critical in preventing many diseases such as osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. Most people I test have low Vitamin D.  Raising these levels is critical in helping prevent winter colds and flus, like the H1N1 virus. This is a great test that involves a finger stick that you do at home and then send in to the lab.  We get the results and review them with you. Cost is $115 for test kit + 10 minute interpretation via phone. (You save $85!)

Comprehensive Metabolic Profile and Interpretation

This is an amazing test that covers anything and everything you want to know about your health! The Comprehensive Metabolic Profile is a combination of organic acid, fatty acid, and IgG food antibody testing. This is a convenient kit using a single urine sample and fingerstick to get results. Cost is $438 and includes a consult to interpret the result.
Organic Acid Profile: B vitamins, neurotransmitters, the ability of your body to detoxify, and gut flora.
Fatty Acid Profile: Omega-3, 6, and trans fatty acids.
Food Sensitivity Panel: the 30 most reactive foods.

Adrenal Stress Index and Interpretation

Includes a test kit that requires 4 saliva samples taken throughout the day to access your adrenal gland function. Stress can greatly impact our adrenal glands, which are responsible for the production of sex hormones, cortisol and many other chemical messengers that help us to have a healthy stress response, effect mood and sleep, decrease inflammation, support immune function and most importantly, provide us with balanced energy. This test can be very helpful in evaluating any imbalanced rhythms. Cost is $220

Heavy Metals Analysis

A non-invasive urine or stool test kit to serve as a tool to access if heavy metal toxicity may be an issue for you

Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis and Interpretation

Proper digestion is the key to optimal health. This test gives critical info to evaluate sources of digestive symptoms related to irritable/inflammatory bowel syndrome, indigestion, maldigestion, colitis, diverticulitis, constipation, diarrhea, excessive gas and bloating, and gut pain. It also tests for good bacteria, bad bacteria, yeast (like candida), parasites and worms.  Yee-ha! Cost is $365

Comprehensive Parasitology and Interpretation

This is a thorough evaluation of good bacteria, bad bacteria, yeast and parasites that are in the gut. The proper balance of good bacteria and/or the presence of bad critters in the intestines can greatly influence digestion, and symptoms of imbalance can extend out to other parts of the body like skin, joints energy and immune function. Includes 30-minute post-test consultation with Dr Cory. Cost is $242

Review of Conventional Labs /Naturopathic Second Opinion

Oftentimes lab values can be within the normal range, but people can still feel un-well. Having evaluated hundreds of conventional lab reports with her patients, Dr Cory has found many nuances in conventional lab testing, and often imbalances and the beginnings of disease may be present, even if the numbers are not in the red zone.

Hepatic Detox Profile

Amino Acid Analysis

A urine test to help determine if amino acid deficiencies are present.  This evaluation is important to rule out any compromises in the detoxification system, B-vitamin deficiences, imbalanced intestinal bacteria, cellular energy production and s especially valuable in determining amino acid status for vegetarians, vegans and raw foodists.

Neurotransmitter Assessments

Help to determine levels of neurotransmitters such as GABA, dopamine, serotonin and others.  Imbalances in these molecules can contribute to conditions such as anxiety, depression, food cravings and pain. May also include adrenal gland function.

Functional Lab Interpretation Consultation

If you have done some functional or neurotransmitter testing through another provider,  or are getting some lab testing through Dr. Cory and your insurance is covering the testing, than use this option to set up a thorough 45-minute review and interpretation.
